Beverly Jean Crother Millikin Lux

Beverly Jean Crother Millikin Lux, age 83, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born on March 8, 1931 in Santa Barbara, California to William George Crother and Helen Augusta Kirsten Crother. Beverly grew up in Santa Barbara and attended UC Santa Barbara for one semester. She also attended a Business school for a short time until she met Robert Chandles Millikin. They married on July 30, 1950 in Quartzsite, Arizona. They had four daughters together and also raised Samoyed dogs. They spent their vacation time traveling to and participating in dog shows in California, Oregon, and Washington. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1971 when Robert received a job transfer. They divorced about six months later. After the divorce, Beverly went to work for Mountain Bell and worked there for about six years. Once her children were raised, she moved to Denver, Colorado and went to work for U.S. West, another phone company, where she worked from 1982 to 1998. She married Larry Allen Lux on October 31, 1991 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they divorced in 1992. Upon her retirement from U.S. West, she moved to Oak City, Utah to be near her children. She lived there for several years, and then moved to Washington, Utah, which was her home at the time of her death. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and watching QVC.

Beverly is survived by her four daughters: Terry (Jim) Jenson of Oak City, Utah; Kathy Hawkes of St. George, Utah; Debby (Kevin) Lowham of Kemmerer, Wyoming; and Lindy Millikin of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one niece:  Linda (Michael) Murr of West Linn, Oregon. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents: William and Helen Crother; 2 brothers: Eldon Philip Crother and Glendon Roy Crother; and a granddaughter: Lacie Anne Jenson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, at 2:00 PM at the Oak City LDS Chapel. No viewing will be held prior to the service. Burial will be in the Oak City Cemetery.
