Linda Wilkins Stewart

Linda Wilkins Stewart, age 73, passed away January 5, 2015 at her home in Lynndyl, Utah after years of struggle against brain cancer and a stroke she suffered a year ago on Christmas Eve.

She was born July 22, 1941 in Hinckley, Utah to Lowell Leland and Nena Alldredge Talbot Wilkins. Linda moved with her family to Lynndyl in 1947. She attended elementary school in Lynndyl, and graduated from Delta High School. In 1962, she served a mission to Tennessee for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning, she graduated from Hollywood Beauty College in Salt Lake City. She married Daniel Ralph Sutton on May 19, 1967. They began their lives together in Murray, Utah, and after a few years moved to Delta, Utah. There she opened a hair salon. Daniel and Linda later divorced. She returned to Lynndyl to be close to her parents, and began working as a custodian at Delta High School and IPP.  She met Russell Kent Stewart and they married on February 2, 1990 in Fillmore, Utah.  They moved to Lynndyl to help take care of Linda’s mother.

Linda enjoyed playing sports: softball, bowling and golf (which helped her acquire her favorite job of working at Sunset View Golf Course). She was a member of the Utah Golf Assoc., and MONIC (Middle Of Nowhere Investment Club). She enjoyed touring with Kent on their Goldwing Motorcycle. Enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, and playing card games with her family. Linda never complained, had a great sense of humor and was full of life. She was a wonderful wife, sister and aunt. She is loved and will be missed by many family and friends.

She is survived by her husband: Kent, Lynndyl; sister: Barbara Anderson, Delta; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers: Leland Ray Wilkins, Robert D Wilkins; and sister: Enla Baird.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a Viewing on Saturday, January 10, from 11:30 to 12:40, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center St, Delta. There will be a procession from the Mortuary to the Hinckley Cemetery, at 1:00 PM, for a short Graveside Dedication.

Linda's family thanks Intermountain Homecare Hospice for the special service and care they provided. Donations to the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Linda are encouraged.
