Walter Wendelboth, age 83, passed away at his home in Sutherland on October 31, 2015.  He was born July 22, 1932 in Ortelsburg, Germany.  He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 17 and left Germany when he was 28. He immigrated to Canada and then to Utah.  He worked for Brigham Young University as a painter.  At an LDS dance he met Susan Hales and they were married November 27, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple.  He became a property developer in Salt Lake City and after retirement he and Susan moved to her childhood home in Sutherland.  Walter was an active member of the LDS Church with strong faith to the end.  He enjoyed discussing politics, faith and the future.

Walter is survived by his wife: Susan; children Daniel (Kim) Wendelboth and Karen (Bill) Lish both of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren: Scott, Ian, Sara, Jessie, Jason, Suzie, and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Nickle Mortuary on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM.  Friends may call from 12:00 until the time of the services.  Burial will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.
