Bonnie Rose Owens

Bonnie Marie Rose Owens, wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, born March 16, 1926 in Delta, Utah to Arvin S. and LaPreal Beatrice Carter Rose, passed from this life on November 14, 2015 in Delta.

Bonnie married her perfect puzzle piece, partner and love, Bernard E Owens, on September 7, 1946. They spent the next thirty years raising their family and what a trip those years would be! Much of that time was spent on the road as Bernard worked away.  Bonnie and family would pack up and go on the road as well, as the two could not bear to be apart. Traveling along, literally singing …many songs, seeing new places and meeting new friends. Life for this family was truly an ongoing wonderful adventure!

Bonnie was well known as “A whole lot of dynamite in a little package”! She spoke her mind and stood up for all things right and good, never once backing down from her convictions. A woman who could and did accomplish anything she set her mind to.

She had a great zest for life. More than anything, Bonnie loved nature and the outdoors; hiking, hunting and fishing with her best friend and love, Bernard. Well known for her “green thumb”. She could nurture even the smallest and rarest seed into a beautiful plant. After raising her family; in 1974, she opened the “Green House” and proceeded to educate most of Delta in the art of planting and growing. Mother’s Day Begonias, Christmas Poinsettias, and even the Main Street trees and Park beautifying Delta are living testimonials to Bonnie’s amazing green gift.

One of Bonnie’s many passions was painting. Self taught, she created many works of art that grace the walls of friend’s homes. Determined as always, Bonnie produced beautiful art well after her eyesight had deteriorated.

The power of strong will and determination are the most precious gifts she has left us all; each and everyone she came into contact with.  “Where there is a will, there is a way!”

Thank you for your bright light, little Bonnie, your memory will continue to burn brightly in our  hearts!

She is preceded in death by her husband: Bernard; daughter: Kristina (Carl) Winfield; parents: Arvin and LaPreal; twins: Scottie and Dorothy; sister: Maxine; brothers: Junior and Bob Rose. Bonnie is survived by sisters: Shirley (Bernard) Faulk and Dixie (William) Brentlinger; son: Bennett (Jerri) Owens; daughter: Paula (Rick) Dippold; grandchildren: Jennifer Elmont, Brandon Owens, Scott Taylor, Matt Taylor, Kimberly Chacon, Robin Smith, Misty Romero and Allison Dippold; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 am, at the Delta City Cemetery.
