Ronald Herbert Webb

We have lost an truly great man. Ronald Herbert Webb aka ”Tobe”, lost his fight to cancer on Tuesday December 22, 2015, in Delta, Utah at age 75. He was the only man we knew to give mouth to mouth resuscitation to a newly born calf while cussing it for not breathing on it’s own. A man who went out of his way to help others, never asking for anything in return.

Born on the farm in Hinckley, Utah, on February 15, 1940. Ron went to Hinckley Elementary, Delta High School, then to Cedar City, for college. On September 17, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Kenney, in the Manti LDS Temple for time and all eternity.

After college and the birth of their daughter, Ronda, they headed north, spending a couple of years in Tooele, UT; then to the Hunter area of the Salt Lake Valley, where their son, Howard, was born. They then moved to Layton, UT working for several years at the Weber Basin Job Corp Center, teaching construction trades and wood shop; then returned to Delta, UT to operate the family farm. He became the manager of  IFA in Delta and spent the next 28  years helping the local farmers keep their fields growing and their livestock fed. He became the unofficial valley veterinarian after his father, Leslie Webb, passed away, helping others with their sick animals.

He spent countless hours serving the community with the Hinckley Lions Club, many years as president, with over 40 years of Demolition Derbies. He received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for dedicated humanitarian service from the Lions Club International Foundation. He was awarded the Conservation Farmer of the Year in 2014.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother: Nellie Rachel Thacker Webb and father: Leslie Webb; sisters: Ardis Murray, Beulah Rowley, Elva Larue Skeem; and brothers: Leslie Fay Webb and Calvin T. Webb. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Wanda; daughter and son-in-law: Ronda and Allen Williams; son and daughter-in-law: Howard and Christina Webb; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister: Delma Jean Galli and brother: Gary Webb.

A celebration of his wonderful life will be held on Thursday, December 31, at 11:00 AM, at the Hinckley LDS Chapel,188 North Main. Viewings will be held on Wednesday evening, 6:30-8:00 PM, at the Hinckley Lions Clubhouse, 270 West Center St; and Thursday, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service.

We would like those who knew Ron to share with us on Thursday's Celebration. Those that would like to not share publicly but would like to send us some of your memories please send them to;  Howard at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
