Carol Dean Talbot Bishop Hunsaker

Carol Dean Talbot Bishop Hunsaker, age 89, passed away December 18, 2016 in Delta, Utah. She was born on December 23, 1926 in Hinckley, Utah, the oldest of eight children born to Arthur Loren and Golda Stewart Talbot. She grew up on the family farm in Hinckley. She graduated from Hinckley High School. She grew up next door to a fine young man, Eugene Harrison Bishop. Their friendship led to romance, and they were married on June 1, 1944, in the Manti LDS Temple.

She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to their 9 children. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving as a Primary teacher, Cub Scouts Den Mother and Stake Cub Scout Leader, as activity leader and MIA President, and as Relief Society Teacher. She loved singing in the Hinckley Ward Choir. She volunteered several years in the Head Start Program. Carol loved baking, quilting, crocheting and sewing. For many years, she knitted and donated numerous scarves and hats to the church welfare program. In a single prolific year alone, she was able to produce and donate 220 items to help keep people warm during the winter.

Eugene died on June 11, 2003. She later married Howard Glen Hunsaker. He died on November 30, 2015. Her family is grateful for the care she received in the Millard Care Center, especially for the attention from Karen Malin.

Carol is survived by her children: Gwen (Joe) Jakusz, Kamiah, Idaho; Vicki (Dennis) Halsey, West Valley City; Craig Bishop, Oak City; Stanley Bishop, West Valley City; Bradley Bishop, Oak City; Douglas Bishop, West Valley City; Steven (Shaunda) Bishop, Enoch; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sister: Linda Riding; brother: Jim (Diane) Talbot. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Eugene Bishop and Howard Hunsaker; son: Art; daughter: Rita Dansie; siblings: Cleone Talbot, Ila Little, Anna Lee Clayton, Elsie Hunsaker, Cecilia Payne Graham.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 11:00 AM, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel, 190 South Center St. Viewing will be held Tuesday, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Hinckley Cemetery.
