Norma Perry Adams

Norma Perry Adams, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 in Delta, Utah. She was born on October 14, 1918 to Ethel Westenskow Perry and George Washington Perry in La Grande, Oregon. The family moved to Utah, and she grew up in the Holladay area, with one sister, Helen Perry Campbell, and one brother, Howard George Perry. She graduated from Granite High School and attended BYU and LDS Business College.

She worked during Word War II in various areas throughout the west. She met her husband-to-be in Tacoma, Washington. Shortly after the war, she married Nathan Cameron Adams on March 6, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Norma and Cameron moved to Delta, Utah, where she spent the rest of her life farming and raising a family. Cameron passed away on March 30, 2002.

She worked for many years with the Millard County Bookmobile. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the Fine Arts Club, and volunteered as a guide at the Great Basin Museum. Norma was active in the LDS church, serving in many capacities, including Primary teacher, Primary President, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society President, and teacher in the Young Womens’ organization. She and Cameron served for ten years as temple workers in the Manti Temple.

Norma is survived by her five children: Nathan George (Ann) Adams, Mesa, Arizona; Ruth (Cordell) Logan, Riverton, Utah; Phyllis (Russell) Patterson, West Valley City, Utah; Karen (Earl) Capps, Greenfield, Wisconsin; A David (Anna) Adams, Snohomish, Washington; 24 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother and sister and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 11:00 AM, at the Delta 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 222 W 200 N, Delta. A Viewing will be held Monday, 9:30-10:40 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery. The family expresses gratitude to the employees of the Millard County Care and Rehabilitation Center for their sweet and tender care of our Mother for the past few years.
