Rosemary Kernell Christensen, age 86, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born on April 13, 1930 in Downey, California, the third of four children to Charles Wallace and Ellen Brown Kernell. Her family moved many places around the country during her youth, settling in Hinckley, Utah. She graduated from  Hinckley High School. During a halftime floor show performance, she caught the attention Bernard L Christensen. They were married on June 17, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. As a young wife and mother, her family lived in Clear Creek, Salina, Salt Lake and Delta. In 1958, she settled in Salt Lake. After her children were raised, Bernard and Rosemary moved to rural Nevada and started a mine. Bernard passed away June 2, 1999, shortly after their return to Delta. She spent the last 6 years with her son in West Jordan.

Rosemary loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She was very talented making many quilts and doilies, crocheting, and painting. She loved sports, esp. Jazz basketball, and Old Movies, esp. Westerns. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church and had a strong testimony.

Rosemary is survived by her children: Tony B. (Yvonne) Christensen; Jerry Kim (Linda) Christensen; Debra Lee (Lee) Frost; twins: Rex E. (Joletta) and Max C. (Linda) Christensen; 31 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother: Charles “Bud” Kernell; sister: Patricia Tripp. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bernard; and sister: Vynola Perkins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7, at 12 Noon, at the Prairie 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 7337 S Grizzly Way (5120 W), West Jordan. A Viewing will be held, 10:30-11:40 am, prior to services. Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday in the Delta City Cemetery.
