Vincent L Cropper “Vince”, age 74, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on November 27, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lincoln R and Nora Mae Croft Cropper. Vince married his life time companion and best friend, Kristine Lee Hardy, on June 13, 1964 in Delta, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 25, 1965.

Vince completed his early education in Delta, Utah and then graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and a minor in Economics. In Vince's early years, he struggled with polio which he contracted at the tender age of 11 years after falling into the Sevier River the day before Christmas. He spent 6 weeks in an iron lung and many more recovering. He continued to suffer with some effects of the polio until the day he passed away. Vince was the 2nd child and only son of Nora and Lincoln, and he grew up learning to be a farmer and cattle rancher on the Bar Box Ranch located just a few miles south west of Deseret, Utah. He continued to farm alfalfa hay, raise cattle and horses on the ranch until he was forced to sell due to health problems.

Vince had many interests and associations including Utah Cattlemen Association, Deseret Cattle Growers Association, Pavant Riding Club and he a member of the Millard County Sheriff's Posse for 29 years. Vince spent many hours away from his family volunteering on searches and other responsibilities for the posse. He was a parent advisor for the Delta High School Rodeo Club and became a second father to many of the members he worked and taught. In his younger years,  Vince enjoyed race cars and racing in them. Vince was an airplane pilot and for many years and co-owned a Cessna Airplane. He used his flying skills to check on his cattle grazing in the West Desert, to travel within the state and neighboring states. He had a special love for hunting and fishing. He spent the best times of his life with his family telling buck stories in deer camp, hunting and fishing. Vince loved reloading bullets and building custom guns. He once wrote and published an article for the  "Small Caliber News" on the Tactical Twenty for which he spent many hours of research and testing.

He was a member of the Sugar Loafers Motor Cycle Racing Club and enjoyed racing himself as well as watching his family race. Vince took up photography in his later years and became quite good at capturing birds and other wildlife in his photos. Many of his photographs won blue ribbons in the county fair and can be seen hanging in local businesses. He was on the board of trustees for the Millard County Swimming Pool which helped in overseeing the building of the swimming pool in Delta, Utah. Vince was very influential in keeping MX Missles from being put in the West Deseret. He wrote and delivered a speech to Washington and US Airforce Officials that would be known as helping to influencing the decision to keep the MX Missles out of the West Desert.

When Vince was 50 years old he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He suffered with the disease for 26 years and ultimately Parkinson's Disease took his life. He never complained or shirked a task because of the Parkinson's Disease and he succeeded in living his life the way he wanted to until the very end despite the many trials he faced.
