Eva Irene Holt Stanworth

IreneStanworth2.webHeaven gained an angel by the name of Eva Irene Holt Stanworth. She died at the ripe old age of 93 on September 25, 2017 at the Delta Community Medical Center from natural causes. She was born on September 29, 1923 in Emery, Utah to Owen Riley and Eva Johanna Nielsen Holt. Her family moved to Milford and later to Delta. She graduated from Hinckley High School and later met and married the love of her life, Earl Stanworth, on April 6,1943 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was solemnized on June 1, 1944 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Mom was a caring, wonderful woman. She raised 5 children, 3 on her own after she lost her husband at the age of 45. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many callings and had a strong testimony to the truth of the gospel. She held many jobs besides mom, she worked at the high school, West Millard Co-op, Droubay Chevrolet, and (her love) Mom's Crafts. She loved to sew and do needlework. Each of her 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grand kids have something made by her with all the love she could put in every stitch. She loved to be with people. She loved her family and friends and was always just a phone call away. She had a love for travel and went on many trips with Don Morris travel, she loved swimming and for 5 + years she rarely missed an early morning swim. She was an enthusiastic Utah Jazz fan and would never miss a game if she could help it. She loved flowers and always had a beautiful yard. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she loved to make porcelain dolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Earl,  all four of her siblings and her grandson: Jake. She is survived by her children: Roger (Marie) Stanworth, Delta; Gwen (Donnie) Amos, Delta; Gary (Christie) Stanworth, Pflugerville, Texas; Jody (Deb) Stanworth, Honeyville, Utah; and Julie (John) Hobson, Delta.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, what would have been her 94th birthday, at 11:00 am, at the Delta 1st  Ward LDS Chapel, 222 W. 200 N. Viewings will be held on Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Friday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial in the Oasis Cemetery.
