Martina Rodriguez Fuentes

Our loving Wife, Mother, and Sister, Martina Rodriguez, age 54, passed away peacefully at her home in Delta, Utah on Monday, February 26, 2018. Martina was born on February 10, 1964 in Leon, Mexico to Pedro and Petra Rios Fuentes. During her time in Mexico she worked making shoes and candy. In time she fell in love with her childhood friend, Martin Rodriguez. They were married on October 4, 1980 in Leon, Mexico. She came to Delta in 1988.

Martina and Martin had six beautiful children together. Her love for them was beyond belief. Her greatest joy was her family and Martina loved being with them. She enjoyed dancing, going to the Casino, and traveling to Mexico to visit her family, who she loved dearly. She loved spending time outdoors with trips to Oak City Canyon. She also loved her chihuahua dogs. Martina was a fun-loving person, a practical joker and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed large family gatherings and was a great cook. Some are still recovering from a bite of her “mild” salsa. She was an amazing grandma. She has left our family with so many great memories we will carry with us always. She had a huge heart, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Martina is survived by her husband: Martin Rodriguez; children: Juan (Dusty) Rodriguez, Delta; Jose (Carmen) Rodriguez, Leon, Mexico; Angelica (Juan) Mendez, Delta; Claudia (Emilio) Miramontes, Monroe; Oscar (Katie) Rodriguez, Delta; Teresa (Jamie) Ramirez, Denver, CO; 27 grandchildren; brothers: Domingo and Pedro Fuentes; sister: Lorenza Fuentes. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pedro and Petra; and brothers: Teodoro and Jose Fuentes.

A Funeral Mass and a separate Funeral Service will be held to celebrate her life. MASS: Thursday, March 1, at 7:30 PM, at the St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 96 South Center St; viewing at Nickle Mortuary, 6:00-7:20 PM, before traveling to the church.
