Bonnie Rae Jensen

Bonnie Rae Jensen, age 70, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2018 at the Millard Care and Rehab Center in Delta Utah. She was born in Delta, Utah on August 1, 1947 to Homer Dewsnup Jensen and Alice Rae Roberts Jensen.

Bonnie was born with mental and physical handicaps. She was unique and extremely loving to everyone. She lived all of her life in Deseret, Utah except for the last 3½ years at the care center in Delta. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was the most faithful attendee ever. She never wanted to miss church or do anything else instead. She especially had a great love for everyone in the Deseret-Oasis ward and they loved her back. She worked for many years at Ace Hardware Store in Delta and earlier at the Cheese Plant. Many of you probably got to answer a few of her questions.

Bonnie did her best in grammar school as long as she could but had many limitations and could not continue. As she got older she loved to do punch pillows, rag rugs, latch hook, tied quilts, and made many knitted hats that she loved to give away. She won many ribbons at the county fair with her projects. She also participated in Special Olympics winning medals and awards there.

Bonnie loved her nieces and nephews. When Bonnie was around, if a young one needed correction both Diane (Chuck) or Dale (Marilyn) knew they would have to contend with Bonnie first. She was so protective of little ones.

After her mother, Rae, died in 2000, Bonnie and Homer were very lonely until Beulah Rowley and Homer were married. The love between Bonnie and Beulah was a beautiful thing.

Bonnie is survived by her sister: Diane (Charles) Allen, Richland, Washington; brother: Dale (Marilyn) Jensen, Saint George, Utah; and seven nieces and nephews. A great reunion must be taking place with her parents and a niece and nephew that preceded her in death. We cannot wait to meet our perfect, sweet, Aunt Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 7, at 11:00 AM in the Deseret-Oasis LDS Chapel, 3423 W 4500 S, Deseret. Viewings will be held at the Deseret-Oasis LDS Church on Sunday evening, 6:30-7:30; and Monday, 10:00-10:40, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Deseret Cemetery.

We are so grateful for the care Bonnie received at the Millard Care and Rehab Center.  She loved it there. She especially loved her roommate Mel. It is an amazing facility and the Friday Bus rides were her favorite.

Dale and Diane wish to thank everyone who has been kind to Bonnie and brought happiness to her life.
