Our beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Laura Marie Neilson Higley, age 81, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Logan, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 28, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vivian Washington and Gladys Leona Jensen Neilson. Laura being the middle of their three beautiful daughters.
She spent her early years living in Trout Creek with her family and working on the ranch. She commuted to Salt Lake City to attend South High School where she later graduated. Laura loved the desert, her cats, family and her belief in the LDS church. She was well known for her scones, her love & interaction with nature and caring personality. She was always the first one to offer a helping hand and support to anyone that needed it. You would often find her laying in the fields with her beloved cats and cows surrounding her staring up at the sky daydreaming or walking down the lane singing a hymn at the top of her lungs, usually off key. Laura always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.
She spent her later years of life living in Logan, Utah at the Sunshine Care Center where she had many friends and made a lifetime of memories. She was greatly loved by everyone at the center. We would like to express our sincere thank you to the staff and residents that took such good care of her and made her last years of life so wonderful.
