Marian Cruse Fletcher

Marian “Sadie” Cruse Fletcher known to many as “Granny”, was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 22, 1938 to Bessie and Zadie Cruse. Her father passed away when she was 2 weeks old. Her mother remarried William “Bill” Senseney, who was the father she came to know and love. After a brief illness, she passed peacefully to be reunited with loved ones and Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the age of 80.

She grew up in Farmersville, California. She was the second of three children. In 1957, she married Gary Freeman. They resided in Fresno, California where all 5 of their children were born. After a 1972 divorce, she met and married Osward “Fletch” Fletcher. They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple. They were together until his death in 1994. Together they raised 7 children and enjoyed their expanding family as each grandchild was born.

In addition to being involved with her grandchildren’s activities, some of the hobbies she enjoyed included gardening, sewing and crocheting. She had a love for everyone she knew and welcomed them into her home and heart, free of judgement. This passion led her to lend her time after retirement, working as a volunteer grandparent with disabled children five days a week. In addition to this, she did temple work and genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son: Anthony Freeman and  granddaughter: Elizabeth Mohr. She is survived by her children: Jessie (Bill) King, Brad (Brenda) Fletcher, Theresa (Alan) Ward, Cynthia Abbott, Cheryl (Eric) Plagenza, Gary Freeman, Rebecca Freeman, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister: Georgia Maxine Bullard, and brother: William “Bill” Senseney (Mary Sue).

Grannie will always be remembered for her overwhelming humbleness and love of everyone who came across her path. The family appreciates all of those who gave service to Granny, especially the staff at the Millard County Care and Rehab in Delta.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 26, at 11:00 am, at the Delta 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 222 West 200 North, Delta. A Viewing will be held 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
