Donald A Poulsen

Donald A Poulsen, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Delta, Utah, surrounded by his family. He was born in Tooele, Utah on July 26, 1929, to Archibald Christian and Norma Adamson Poulsen. He grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Clara Jeffery, in the Manti LDS Temple on December 28, 1949. Together they had 4 children: Ronald, Richard, Joe and Kathy. After 60 years of marriage, on June 12, 2010, his beloved Clara passed away.

Don spent his life farming in the Delta area, starting in Sugarville, and then in the Jeffery family home that Clara was raised in. Don was one of the first EMTs in Delta, and one of the charter members of the Millard County Sheriff Posse, remaining active throughout his life. He spent many, many hours in the desert searching for those who were lost.

Everyone who knew Don could always count on a good story or a joke whenever they talked. Don loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Don is survived by his son: Joe (Darla) Poulsen; his daughter: Kathy, 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and his brother: Jim Poulsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clara, his sons: Ronald and Richard, and siblings: Leone Waters, Dave Poulsen, Eldon Poulsen, and Dorothy Jeffery.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 am, at the Delta 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 197 South 300 West, Delta, Utah. A Viewing will be held at the church, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
