ThomasStanworth.Military.webThomas Karl Stanworth, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 25, 2019 in Delta, Utah. He was born in Delta, Utah on February 4, 1957 to the oldest of the four children of Karl Thomas and Margaret June Peer Stanworth. He married his sweetheart, Esther M. Kahn, on February 12, 2010 in Delta, Utah. Together they ran “The Delta Thrift Shop” and the customers absolutely loved Tom.

Tom grew up in Delta and attended Delta High School. He then joined the US Army National Guard. He first made his home in Salt lake City, but later returned to Delta to raise his family. Tom worked at the Lumber Mill for several years and also worked for the Cheese Plant, Delta Egg Farm, and did some of his own farming. Tom loved his oldie music and snacks. He always had a drawer full of goodies. He loved talking to everyone no matter who they were and would strike up a conversation with everyone he bumped into for long periods of time. He will be remembered for his amazing personality.

Tom loved hunting, fishing, and camping at Indian Creek. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Tom loved the San Francisco 49er’s ever since he was very young and never missed a game. He was also a big fan of the Utah Jazz.

Tom is survived by his wife: Esther M. Stanworth; sons:  Jeremy, Thomas, Sam, Jacob, and Josh;  his daughters: Amber, Tina, Hopey, and Christina; grandchildren: Stephanie, Joanna, Kaden, Damien, Jacxsyn, Danielle, Des, Ashley, Mercades, and Khalil; brother: Jim Stanworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Tamera and Lolamarie Stanworth.

Tom has touched so many lives and will be remembered as the great man he was. He will truly be missed by his wife, kids and grandkids and everyone who truly knew him.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 11:00 AM, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel, 190 South Center Street. A Viewing will be held Saturday, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Oasis Cemetery.
