Leslie Carroll Talbot

LeslieTalbot2.webLeslie Carroll Talbot, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Born December 21, 1941 in Coalville, Utah to Heber Black Carroll and Isabell Moon Carroll. Leslie was the oldest of their two children. Her brother Joseph died very young, so Leslie was essentially an only child her entire life. She grew up in Draper, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School in 1960. While attending LDS Business College, Leslie traveled with a friend to Oak City, Utah. Little did she know on that fateful trip, she would meet her eternal companion, Arnold. He saw her sitting on the front steps and rode up on his horse to introduce himself. They were later married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 17, 1964. After a few moves they settled in Draper to raise their family.

Leslie and Arnold had 5 children together and 15 grandchildren. She was proud of every one of them and their accomplishments. She was always their biggest cheerleader. Leslie was a private person and disliked socializing, even spoke often of becoming a hermit but she loved when her grandkids visited. She enjoyed the outdoors and anything to do with nature including gardening, hiking, birdwatching, fishing and playing with the creepy crawlies. She loved when her grandkids brought in toads, frogs, lizards, snakes and bugs of all kind and she encouraged their explorations.

Leslie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of eternal families. She loved her Heavenly Father and was always thankful for her blessings. She was an amazing example of selfless service and sacrifice. She took care of her husband and family and never complained. She always did her best to emulate the Savior.

Leslie is preceded in death by her son: Terry; her brother: Joe; and her parents: Heber and Isabell. It will be a joyous reunion in heaven when Mom gets to see those family members that she has missed for all these years.

She is survived by her husband: Arnold; son: Travis (Brooke) Talbot; daughter: Toni (Eric) Allred; son: Tyler (Lindsay) Talbot; daughter: Tina (Eric) Anderson; and 15 grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Tanner Christensen and the nursing staff of the 6th floor of Utah Valley Hospital for their superior care and kindness during her stay.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, at 11:00 am, at the Oak City LDS Chapel, 35 East Center Street. A Viewing will be held at the church, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Oak City Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com
