Toni Mary DeSorcy Beers Perez

ToniPerez2.web“Toni” Antoinette Mary DeSorcy Beers Perez, age 63, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Sutherland, Utah. Toni was born on January 7, 1957 in Oyen, Alberta, Canada to Arthur Joseph and Helen Sibulak DeSorcy. She was the middle of five children, siblings: sister, Darlene, and brothers, Rennie, Art and Bill. In 1959, Toni’s family moved to the United States and settled in Seattle, Washington. Then in 1970, they moved to Utah and she graduated from Provo High School. She earned her Degree as a Drafting Engineer from Utah Technical College. In 2004, she went back to school at California Technical College becoming certified in Auto-CAD Drafting.

Toni’s ultimate joy was her family. She was so proud of them and always wanted to share stories of what they were doing. She had four children she loved very much: Shylee, Brittney, Nacoda, and Adam. A joy only surpassed by her 12 grandchildren: Joey, Zachary, Kortney, Alisha, Chantel, Josie, Jerica, Alexus, Zoe, Piper, Dax and Teighe; and 7 (soon to be 8) great-grandchildren: Braxton, Anastasia, Malthael, Ayden, Jacoda, Alyxandria, Ariyah and expected baby boy. She adored being called “Granny”.

She was a very care-free natured person, and loved to make people smile. Anyone that knew her, know the joy she took in ‘clowning around’... literally! She had a passion for creativeness, whether painting, drawing, woodworking or coming up with the latest invention. With all of her endeavors in life she had a unique way of making deep rooted friendships wherever she was.

Toni was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung/Brain Cancer in July 2020. In August, along with her mother, she moved to Sutherland to be close to her family. Her mother died only 6 weeks ahead of her. They spent their last months taking care of each other. She also spent those last months crafting with her immensely loved great grandchildren.

Toni is survived by children: Shylee (JC) Hansen, Sutherland; Brittney (Jerill) White, Oasis; Adam (Sherri) DeSorcy, Salem, Oregon; siblings: Darlene (Kent) Roselle, Rennie DeSorcy, Art (Robin) DeSorcy, Bill (Cindy) DeSorcy; and her very beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, and treasured nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son: Nacoda Jay Smith.

Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, a small family service will be held on January 9, 2021. Her remains will be interred in Spanish Fork near her son, Nacoda. A Celebration of her Life will be held on July 11, 2021 where some remains will be spread at her family’s loved and longtime camping spot. We express a very heartfelt thanks to the many friends and healthcare professionals who provided their love and services to our Mother and to Toni’s Mother, especially the staff of Delta Community Hospital.
