LeAndrew “Andy” Duane Goodrich passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born on November 25, 1987 to Pamela and Lee Goodrich in Provo, Utah. He grew up in Delta and loved living in the country. He often said he wished he could go back to his grandparents farm in Lynndyl. He loved his little sisters, Brooke and Rosey, and taught them how to build computers, make potato guns, blow up things and drive at very young ages. On one of his mother’s most memorable days, Andy called her at work and said “Don’t worry Mom, the fire is out!” He and his friend accidentally started a fire while soldering in the basement; however, they were quick with their wits and put it out with a bucket of polliwogs.

Andy was a fun, inventive child. He learned how to make rockets from his uncle Lloyd Burraston, who he was so grateful for. No one can forget the day he sent lizards to the moon in one of his rockets. He built various types of wicked potato guns. We apologize to whoever passed our house and saw a potato or rocket fly past their windshield during his teen years. Despite concerns for everyone’s safety, we will always cherish his attempts to teach us the laws of physics in motion.

Throughout high school he had a great group of friends to hang out with. We called them the brethren. They had ongoing adventures in the gravel pits, lava tubes and canyons. I thanked God every night they did not start a forest fire. Fortunately, his friends had good parents who I believe helped curtail some of Andy’s adventurous spirt. Most of these boys worked together at Jubilee throughout high school and the Sentkers deserve a medal for keeping them in line. That was Andy’s favorite job. Where else can you saran wrap girls to inventory carts?

Andy called home one day and said, “Mom, I met a girl with the most beautiful face I’ve ever seen!” Then he married her. Andy and Rebekah Belnap were married on January 28, 2010. Rebekah has been such a gift to our family. She is and always will be our daughter. They were blessed with a baby boy, LeAndrew Phil Goodrich, on December 3, 2015. What a Joy that child has been in our lives. ‘Little Lee’ embodies every good attribute Andy leaves behind. He is a Joy to everyone he meets, redefining what it means to love unconditionally. Little Lee knew his dad would do anything for him. Andy is so proud of him and will be his guardian angel forever.

Andy was a self-taught expert in sound. He built speakers and refurbished vintage speakers. He also built and refurbished computers. His son loved the toys his dad made for him with his 3D printer. Whenever his toys got broken, he’d say “Don’t worry Dad can fix it”. His grandmother described him as the most useful human being she’d ever known.

Andy had a strong belief in Jesus Christ and a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. He believed in treating people with Christ-like love. His greatest accomplishment on earth has been developing a strong relationship with his wife. Despite extraordinary challenges and trials, they loved each other unconditionally and overcame more than most people will ever face. Lee and I are so proud of the them for these efforts and for taking such good care of their son.

Andy is survived by his wife: Rebekah Goodrich; son: LeAndrew P. Goodrich; parents: LeAndrew and Pam Goodrich and his sisters: Brooke and Rosey Goodrich. He will be missed every minute of every day and we will never forget how kind he was to all of us.

Everyone is invited to attend his Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, February 20, at 11:00 am, at the Delta LDS Stake Center, 125 South White Sage Avenue. Viewings will be held on Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Saturday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Masks and Social Distancing are required.
