Debra Palmer Tolces

Debra “Debi” Palmer Tolces, age 66, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah after bravely facing her second battle with cancer, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on August 1, 1955 in Delta, Utah, to V. Leonard and Berneice Hepworth Palmer. She grew up in Hinckley and attended Hinckley Elementary School and graduated from Delta High School in 1973. She continued her education in Salt Lake City, and then found employment there working for Granite District Credit Union, American Express, and C.R. England Trucking. Debi excelled in her positions in project management and office management and loved her job at C.R. England. She was fittingly proud of her accomplishments, that because of her ability and dedication, a small town girl from rural Utah was able to move up the ranks of management, passed others with more prestigious degrees and educational backgrounds. She has spent the last 13 years in Tooele, and there made many wonderful and rewarding friendships. She found the love of her life, Robert S. Tolces, and they were married on August 19, 2011 in Stansbury Park. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed doing many activities, especially taking care of their beloved dogs.

Because Debi was unable to have children of her own, she “adopted” any and all who allowed her to shower them with her love and enormous heart. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tooele and achieved the rank of Deputy Grand Regent. During her time at the Moose Lodge, she was instrumental in raising money for the battered women’s and children’s shelter and for the Moose Heart retirement home for members, the Moose Haven organization which provides loving homes for abandoned and orphaned children nationwide, as well as being involved in fundraisers for the Kidney Foundation and the Cancer Foundation. She loved and excelled at cooking and was always trying new things to share with all those around her.

Debi is survived by her loving husband: Robert “Bob”; siblings: Marilyn Manwill (Lee -deceased), Salt Lake City; Clemont (Janice) Palmer, Kaysville; Peggy (Steve) Witters, Meridian, Idaho; Patty (Blaine) Dickson, Syracuse; Michael Palmer and Paul Palmer, both of Hinckley; and adopted sister: Yvonne (Brent) Spencer, also of Hinckley; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts, and all her adopted family of friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 28, at 2:00 PM at the Hinckley Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to gather at the Nickle Mortuary beginning at 1:00 PM, before travelling to the cemetery.
