Marilyn Shuldberg Nielson

MarilynNielson2.webMarilyn Shuldberg Nielson, age 93, passed away on September 14, 2021 in Delta, Utah. She was born on August 28, 1928 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William H. And Aleda Chadwick Shuldberg. She grew up on the family farm in Mud Lake, Idaho with her four sisters and one brother. Marilyn graduated from Preston High School, then attended Ricks College and Utah State University, majoring in Home Economics.

While attending Utah State University, Marilyn met a handsome young man from Lynndyl, Utah. Marilyn and Robert Dee Nielson were married on August 22, 1950 in the Logan LDS Temple. During the early years of their marriage, Bob and Marilyn lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming where Bob served in the military during the Korean War. Bob and Marilyn moved back to Lynndyl in 1955 to farm and raise their family. Marilyn taught elementary school in Lynndyl, Leamington and then Delta for 34 years. She loved teaching school and taught third grade for many of those years. She retired in 1991.

Marilyn was known for her patience, hard work, and willingness to serve. She loved attending church, learning the gospel and spending time with her family. She had many friends and often hosted meetings of the D.U.P. and book groups. Her hobbies were gardening, reading, sewing and cooking.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters: Renee (Mike) Carter, Mesa, Arizona; Maxine (Rich) Hardy, Ammon, Idaho; Sharon (Jeff) Peterson, Delta, Utah; son: Daryl (Wendy) Nielson, Boise, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters: LaJune Hall, Rigby, Idaho; Sharon Gillett, Paradise, Utah; brother-in-law: Alan Nielson, Lynndyl, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert; son: Glen Nielson; parents, brother: Clair Shuldberg; sisters: Adele Wilden and Connie Larsen.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, at 11:00 am, at the Leamington LDS Chapel, 90 South Center Street. A Viewing will be held Saturday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Masks and Social Distanceing are Encouraged. Friends are also invited to view the live stream of the Funeral Service. The link will be posted on her obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com.
