Mary Eileen Bell Finlinson

Mary Eileen Bell Finlinson, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Cedar Hills, Utah on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Eileen was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1940 in Richmond, Utah to Thomas Ray Bell and Lillian Viola Christensen Bell. Her daddy always told her that the flags flown every year were in honor of her birthday.

Eileen loved camping and made it her birthday tradition. So many memories were made with her kids and grandkids, and she was a master at dutch oven chicken and potatoes and peach cobbler. She loved to play cards and games while drinking her Diet Coke. She excelled at being a mother/grandma and made every holiday fun and special and her caramel popcorn balls and potato salad were family favorites.

She was a hard worker and made many friends working at the Rancher Motel and Café, the Delta Hospital, and the West Millard Care Center where she was head housekeeper until her retirement. She knew how to make everyone feel special and loved. She prided herself in keeping an immaculate home and yard.

Mom had a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father and Savior and served in many callings in her church including Relief Society President and in the Young Women and Primary programs, but her heart was always in the scouting program. She loved all of her scouts dearly.

Eileen is survived by her children: Todd (Julie) Finlinson of Logan, UT; Jolene (Darris) Williams of Cedar Hills, UT; daughter-in-law: Dee Finlinson of Henderson, NV; Doug (Stephanie) Finlinson of Syracuse, UT; Janae (Lydell) Lovell of Oak City, UT; 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death unexpectedly by just a few hours by her son: Tom Finlinson; also preceded by her father and mother: Thomas and Lillian Bell; the best big brothers: Dallin Bell and Douglas Bell; two precious granddaughters: Ashlee Eileen Finlinson and Ashley Nicole Finlinson; and her parents-in-law who loved her dearly: Walker and Rosie Finlinson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 19, at 11:00 am, at the Delta 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 197 S 300 W. Viewings will be held Thursday evening, 6-8 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center St; and Friday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Friends unable to attend are also invited to view the recorded video of the service. The link will be posted with her obituary at www.nicklemortuary.com by Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Oak City Cemetery.

We love you a bushel and a peck!
