Cynthia Ann McKeen Janzen, age 70, of Roundup, Montana passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 18, 2021, in Livingston, Montana due to Covid and other natural causes. Cynthia was born on April 12, 1951, in Roundup, Montana, the third of the five children of Gilbert 'Gil' Glen and Ada M. Jones McKeen. She also had 2 older half brothers. In 1955, the family moved to Billings, where she grew up and attended school. Cynthia played basketball at Billings Senior High and after graduating, she attended Rocky Mountain College.
In January of 1971, Cynthia married David Ralph Janzen. To this union, two sons were born: Darold and Davey Janzen. Beginning in 1972, she also assisted her husband during his service in the Air Force as a volunteer nurse. David and Cynthia later divorced.
Cynthia worked hard to raise her sons as a single mother. She worked as a cook at the Pioneer Cafe in Roundup. Following spiritual inspiration, in 1985 she moved her family to Delta, Utah to raise her boys in a supportive and healthy environment. There she spent many years working at the Deltan Inn and The Willden Motel.
Through the years, Cynthia became very close to Doris McKeen (her sister-in-law) and had a very close friendship with Shirley Novak and her family. Doris and Shirley were more like sisters to her. Cynthia loved family and loved to visit.
Cynthia enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. She was an amazing cook. She also fondly remembered her years spent breaking horses on her father's ranch in Montana. However, the greatest joy of her life were her two sons, Darold and Davey.
Cynthia is survived by her two loving sons: Darold Janzen and Davey (Andrea) Janzen; three brothers: David (Savina), Paul (Pam), and Walter (Janice); sister: Dorlores King; half-brother: Robert McKeen; sister-in-law: Doris McKeen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents: Gilbert and Ada McKeen; her half-brother: Charles McKeen; and three nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 1:00 pm, at the Delta Four Square Church; as well as a celebration in the spring at the New Life Fellowship in Roundup, Montana where Cynthia was a member. Online condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com
