Carla Dee Marino Nash

CarlaNash2.webCarla Dee Marino Nash, age 85, passed away on February 14, 2022 in Delta, Utah. She was born in Oak Creek, Colorado on June 23, 1936 to Carl and Alta Estella DeLong Marino. She grew up and attended grade school in Haybro, Colorado. In 1947 her family moved to Oak Creek where she attended Soroco High School and worked as a telephone operator on the night shift until she graduated. She then moved to Denver to work for the telephone company in their main office until 1967.

Carla married the love of her life, Irvin Deon Nash in Phippsburg, Colorado on March 19, 1961. In 1967, she and Irvin moved back to Oak Creek, and Carla started working for a Savings and Loan and later for a title company.

Carla also took pride in serving her community. In her spare time, she worked with the Rainbow Girls. She joined The Eastern Star and became the Matron of The Lodge. She was active in volunteering at the new library, the senior center and the museum.

In 1993, she and her husband retired and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. They lived there for nine years, and then moved to Delta, Utah. In 2008 they moved to Ottumwa, Iowa to be near family, but seven years later they returned to Delta.

Carla was very proud of her Italian heritage and loved cooking delicious meals! She was a good friend to so many!! She will be deeply missed.

Carla enjoyed tracing both her family tree as well as Irvin’s family tree, histories, genealogy and painting many lovely pictures.

While living in Delta, she as very active in The Delta Community Presbyterian Church and served in many different positions. She was also active in the Senior Center as the secretary and treasurer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22, at 11:00 am, at the Delta Community Presbyterian Church, 107 South 200 West. A Viewing will be held at the Nickle Mortuary on Tuesday morning, 9:30-10:30 am, before traveling to the church. Following the service, there will also be a social gathering to honor her at the Byrd Senior Center.
