R. Kent Stewart, age 79, passed away on February 24, 2022 at his home in Delta, Utah. He was born on January 29, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa, the younger of the two sons of Charles Andrew and Arline Elizabeth Jack Stewart. Kent grew up in Rock Island, Illinois. From a young age he enjoyed being in nature. He became especially interested in bird watching, and over time became an excellent nature photographer. Throughout his life, he always acquired as excellent of photography equipment as his funds would permit. After he graduated from Rock Island High School in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged after four years of service, and then returned to Rock Island and got a job working for the local area newspaper, The Moline Dispatch. That eventually led him to a job with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. After a few years, his brother helped him find a job with the Intermountain Power Project (IPP). Kent was grateful for the many friends he made at his job, and after 11 years at the plant he retired.

While working at the plant, Kent met the love of his life, Linda Wilkins. They were married on February 2, 1990 in Fillmore, Utah. They enjoyed many wonderful years together until her passing on January 5, 2015.

Kent was very devoted to his hobbies and interests. He was an excellent photographer and was proud to some of his pictures sold as postcards at the Topaz Museum. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and had an impressive gun collection. He was a collector of model cars. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was grateful for the friends he made as part of his motorcycle club. Kent also enjoyed computer games, and even in his retirement years, was acquiring and enjoying the latest software releases.

Kent is survived by his sons from a previous marriage: Scott Stewart of Tailand; Grant Stewart of Moline, Illinois; brother: Chuck (Velva) Stewart of Vancouver, Washington. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart: Linda.
