Keith Henry Johnson

Keith Henry Johnson, age 77, passed away on January 17, 2023 surrounded by loving family at his home in Delta, Utah. He was born on December 2, 1945 in Delta, Utah second of the seven kids of Ward Huntsman and Bonnie Jean Conk Johnson. He grew up on the family farm in Delta where he learn to work hard and work in a team.  He graduated from Delta High School in 1964. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He attended Snow College studying auto mechanics. He worked as a truck driver, and in 1986 was hired by the County Road Department. He was a dependable, hard worker and retired from the County in 2013.

Keith gave innumerable hours of service to his community. He was a part of the Delta Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years. He joined the Millard County Ambulance crew in 1992. He served many years helping to organize and staff the Hinckley Lion’s Club Demolition Derby. He also helped to deliver food and clothing to people in need during the Christmas Season. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting, especially with his family and friends.

Keith was always grateful for the many people he got to know throughout his life. He had a great sense of humor. He knew all the wrong things to say in just the right way and didn’t hesitate to say them. He was a friend to everyone, and truly left a mark on this community. He will be deeply missed.

Keith is survived by his sons: Shaun Dansie, Vancouver, Washington; Travis (Denise) Johnson, Oak City; Christopher (Stacy) Johnson, Elk Ridge, Utah; daughter: Stephanie (Scot) Lorentzen, Longview, Washington; son: Peter Johnson, Provo; 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with another on the way; siblings: Doug (Jane) Johnson, Dennis (Peggy) Johnson, Lynda (Dick) Hopkins, Jewly (Murray) Harris. He is preceded in death by sister: Joyce; brother: Roger; granddaughter: Madison; great niece: Kapri.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 28, at 2:00pm, at the Hinckley LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Friday evening, 6:00-8:00, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Saturday at the church, 12:30-1:40pm, prior to the service. Friends unable to attend are invited to view the recorded video of the service. Burial Service will be held later in the Holden Cemetery.

The family would appreciate all who would write down a story or memory of Keith to read later.
