Anna Louise Dabel Bennett

Anna Louise Dabel Bennett, age 75, passed away at her home in Delta, Utah on Saturday, April 15, 2023, after a long battle with COPD. She was surrounded by a loving family who held her hand day and night until her passing. She was born in Afton, Wyoming, to Grant Wilford and Betty Jean Thornton Dabel. She was the oldest of four children and always remained close to her siblings.

She married David August Paulman in 1965 in Lander, Wyoming, and had two children: Jay and Scott. Dave was killed in a plane crash, leaving her a widow in 1972. In 1981, she married Jerry Lynn Bennett in Las Vegas, Nevada, with whom she had two more children: Sherri and Randy.

Anna worked as an administrative assistant with the Delta Middle School. She retired in 2001, where she was loved by students and staff and respected for her work ethic and kindness to others. Soon after retiring, her sweetheart Jerry passed away unexpectedly. Many would think being widowed twice would have brought her spirit down, but no matter the obstacle, Anna always fought to the end.

Anna and Jerry were together for 27 years, and during that time, they had homes in Las Vegas, Nevada and Delta, Utah. They built their final home by the Gunnison Bend Reservoir at Sherwood Shores in Delta.  They loved to improve and beautify their property and enjoyed the natural wildlife surrounding their home with friends and family.

Anna was loved by all who knew her.  She gave everything she had to others, sometimes to her detriment. She is truly an example for those she left behind. Anna lived a life full of love, sacrifice, and example and cherished her children and grandchildren.

The family expresses their appreciation to the Intermountain Homecare & Hospice staff: Dr. Brown, Dr. Shamo, Shawna Nielson, Sherry Pace, Shelly Anderson, Charlie Brown & Doug Jenkins, who helped care for her. We would also like to show appreciation to Roger & Bobbie Killpack, and the staff at Service Drug, for going above and beyond to accommodate her needs during this time, as well as the neighbors who offered comfort, food, and other loving assistance during the time leading up to her death.

Anna is survived by her children: Jay Paulman (Jaye), Helena, Alabama; Scott Paulman (Julie), Delta, UT; Sherri Bennett (Steve O’Camb), Delta, UT;  and Randy Bennett (Amber), Cedar City, UT; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings: Steve Dabel (Linda), Lake Havasu, Arizona; Patricia Dunlap (Bill), Mountain View, Wyoming; Kelly Dabel (Barbara), Panaca, Nevada. Anna was preceded in death by husband: David Paulman; husband: Jerry Bennett; father: Grant Dabel; and mother: Betty Dabel.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 22, at 11:00am, at the Nickle Mortuary Chapel in Delta. A viewing will be held 9:30-10:40am, prior to the service. Friends unable to attend are invited to view the recorded video of the service. Interment will immediately follow at Delta Cemetery next to her sweetheart, Jerry.
