Tony Watts, age 69, passed away on October 5, 2023 in Springville, Utah. Tony was born on November 30, 1953 in Delta, Utah, the middle of the three children born to Arland Twitchell and Nina May Meacham Watts. During his early years, he grew up in many communities as his family moved around. He found a lot of enjoyment in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. After leaving high school, he got a job working with the Union Pacific Railroad. Tony was dedicated, competent and dependable and eventually was made foreman of the Delta track crew. He spent all his working life with Union Pacific, retiring after 34 years.

He found the love of his life, Claudia Day, not long after high school; and they were married in April of 1974. His passing came just shy of their golden wedding anniversary, they spent 49 years together, and raised 4 beloved children. Being an outdoorsman defined Tony’s life. He enjoyed watching the Outdoor Channel at home, and whenever he could Tony loved taking his children with him on his hunting trips. He enjoyed the bow hunt as well as rifle, and made many special memories being in the mountains with his family. He was always a practical joker, resulting in many experiences his children will never forget as well. He will be deeply missed.

Tony is survived by his wife: Claudia; children: Michelle (C.F.) Baker; Tracy (Scott) Swasey; Dallas Watts; Cassidy (Ryan) Stewart; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; step-mother: Rochelle Watts; brothers: Kirk and Kevin Watts. He is preceded in death by his sister: Patricia “Pat” Drushal; and brother: Jeff Hansen.

In accordance with his wishes, and his personality keeping it simple and avoiding the fuss, no public services will be held. But we know his spirit is now free to wander the mountains he loved.
