Allan Gerald Childs

Allan Gerald Childs, age 89, passed away October 31, 2023 in Delta, Utah. He was born on November 22, 1933 in Provo, Utah, the middle of five children of Bliss Gudmundson Childs and Eleanor Jane Prows Childs. He grew up in Springville helping out on the family farm. He graduated from Springville High School where he excelled as an athlete playing basketball and becoming a state champion in the Javelin.

Gerald married Colleen Fay Hansen on June 12, 1954 and they have since spent 69 wonderful years together. They had nine beloved children who were the joy of his life. Gerald was a jack of all trades, especially skilled in construction, where he was a carpenter and laid cement. He was also a skilled professional photography. He deeply enjoyed taking photos, documenting many wedding and other special events. He also was a skilled printer. During his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and 4-wheeler adventures out in the desert. He also enjoyed his time in the outdoors camping with his family. He was a great support to his family - a fun dad full of great advice and guidance.

Gerald is survived by his wife: Colleen; 8 of his children; and a progeny of 72 grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by an older brother; and a son.

Family Services were held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in the Eskdale Cemetery.
