Lorie Lee Turner Brown, passed away on September 1, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home in Delta, Utah. She was born April 8, 1958 in Denver, Colorado, to JE and Arline Marie Gustin Turner. Lorie was the oldest of the five children they had together. JE and Arline married later in their lives and Arline wanted children very badly, so they went on to have a child every year starting in 1958. Their last girl was born in February of 1962. All four of these children were born in the Denver area.
JE and Arline bought a motel in Orchard City, Colorado where they lived and operated it for a short time. After selling the motel, they moved to Santa Ana, California, where their last child, a boy, was born making it three girls and two boys.
JE and Arline were very proud of the brood they had created. They were told often how well mannered the five were. JE made sure the family was well taken care of and Arline did her best to see that the 5 were polished, as she had dreamed of this, her very own family.
After a few years of living in California, the two made a decision to move to Utah to be closer to two of JE’s brothers. They moved to the little town of Sandy, Utah and settled into raising their family. In August of 1968, Arline was diagnosed with liver cancer and passed away within a month of her surgery. JE lived for another 36 years and moved to Millard county before he was called home. Lorie grew up doing her part to help manage the family without her mother.
Eventually Lorie had three beautiful daughters of her own: Amanda Lee, Megan Rose, and Kellie Kaye. They were the treasures of her life. Lorie lived for her daughters and never once regretted her life with them. Each daughter was told that Lorie could only afford two grandchildren per daughter. Well, that did no good because Lorie ended up with 14 of the most adorable grandchildren ever seen. Sidney, Shalese, Britton, Brilee, Scottie, Savana, Luke, Colten, Lincoln, Brooklyn, Wylee, Chauncy, Hobie and Mia. And to top that off, one great granddaughter, Dakota Alley Larson.
Lorie met the Love of her life at her Christmas party on December 7, 2013, as he was Santa Claus. They didn’t know it until 9 months later when they started talking via text. Dennis and Lorie soon had a first date in October of 2014 and love was in the air. Dennis William Brown and Lorie Lee Turner were sealed for time and all eternity on June 20, 2015. They spent the first 8 months of their marriage in the cab of a semi truck hauling cheese to local western states. They only got to live out the dream together for a short 9 years, but it was the best years of their lives. Lorie will be waiting in heaven for her loving husband to join her with bated breath.
A few of Lorie's passions were doing temple work and genealogy and of course, spending time with her family.
Lorie is survived by her devoted husband: Dennis Brown; her cherished daughters: Amanda Stanworth, Megan (Scott) Brown, Kellie Bringard; as well as 14 adorable grandchildren and one super adorable great granddaughter.
