Neil R Forster

Neil R Forster, age 76, of Delta, Utah passed from this life surrounded by the family he loved, July 3, 2013. He was born May 2, 1937, the fourth child of Henry and Ila Rawlinson Forster. He graduated from Delta High after getting every roll in every musical he could acquire and serenading his class mates at every assembly. He married Clareen Willden on September 7, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They later divorced. He left Delta to begin a career with Standard Oil, and returned as the owner of Neil' s Chevron. Then had a short career in radio which he loved. The last 30 years of his employment were with Delta City retiring as superintendent of Public Works. Delta City was his love and his passion, he worked tirelessly to improve city services. He served on the Utah Rural Water Board and the National Rural Water Board, where he worked with State and National Leaders to allow every American affordable safe drinking water. He loved music and entertained with his sister Rosemary for many years. His family was the most important thing in his life. His loving support was always at hand for each child and grandchild. He loved to see us succeed, but would always pick us up when we fell.

He is survived by son: Alan W. Forster (Krista), Herriman Utah; daughters: Cindy Chambliss (Bill), Hinckley Utah, and Alecia Humphrey (Jay), Auburn Nebraska; sister: Rosemary Crafts (Zane); brothers: Dr. Merlin Forster (Vilda); Walter Forster (Jerri); 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; many adored nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by sons: Gregory and Eugene; granddaughter: Marissa Chambliss; and sister: Louise Phelps (Gordon).

Thanks is simply not enough for Dr. Alan Smith, Dr. Stephen Shamo and each and every angel disguised as nurses or staff at Delta Community Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 11:00 AM, at the Delta 3rd LDS Ward, 197 South 300 West. Viewings will be held Sunday evening, 6:30-8:00 PM, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Monday morning at the church, 9:30-10:40 AM.
