Judith “Judy” Ann Henderson Meinhardt, age 82, returned back into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 in Delta, Utah. She was born on November 2, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Pherrell Lester and Vera Snape Henderson. Judy grew up in Sugarhouse. She graduated college with a degree in Education and began her teaching career.
Judy met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Edward Meinhardt. They were married on June 8, 1968 in Salt Lake City. They began raising their blended family in the Delta, Utah area, having their home built on their farm just outside of Delta City. Judy was also able to continue her teaching career, working at the Delta Middle School and later the Fillmore middle school, eventually becoming certified to primarily work in the Special Education Program. She had a deep affection for the students she taught through the years, and retired from the Millard County School District. Judy also had a close relationship with her Heavenly Father, and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Judy’s love for her family was immeasurable. She once said “My family’s needs will always come before my own,” and she lived her life by those words with every breath she took. Judy’s greatest joy was time spent with her family, especially going on trips to Flaming Gorge, Lake Powell, and the Little Sahara Sand Dunes. In her later years she would be found in her garden, playing bingo, bowling, traveling to Mesquite or on a cruise ship with her husband.
Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband: Bob; stepson: Bobby Meinhardt; stepdaughter: Teresa (David) Novakovich; sons: Marc Meinhardt, Matt (Shiloh) Meinhardt, and Jon Meinhardt; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother: Ray Henderson; sister: Bonnie Henderson. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Gerald Henderson; and granddaughter: Danielle Meinhardt.
Judy’s family thanks the staff at Millard Care Center for the loving care they provided.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, at 12:00 noon, at the Delta City Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to a Viewing at the Nickle Mortuary, 10:30-11:40 am, before traveling to the cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.nicklemortuary.com
