Loel Keith Dubois

LoelDubois1b.webLoel Keith Dubois, age 83, passed away on December 31, 2024 at his home in Delta, Utah. He was born on April 15, 1941, in Cedar City, Utah to Keith Carson and Fae Mathis Dubois. His early years took him to Pioche, Nevada, before his family moved to Tooele and eventually settled in Fairfield, Utah, when he was 8 years old. Loel attended school in Lehi, making a 30-mile journey each way for his education. He graduated from high school in 1959.

Loel proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years, beginning his service aboard the USS Cadmus before entering the Service School Command in San Diego, California. He then served three years on the USS Midway, stationed out of Alameda, California, where he achieved the rank of Seaman, First Class.

Following his honorable discharge, Loel moved to American Fork, Utah, where he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Janene Hampshire. Together, they built a home and family in the Old Manila area of Pleasant Grove, Utah, raising four children.

Throughout his life, Loel gave back to his community and his church in numerous ways. He embraced many church callings and took great pride in serving as a Varsity Scout Leader for seven years, a role that brought him immense joy. Loel had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and exploring the mountains. His heart was always drawn to the South Slope of the Uinta Mountains, and during the fall, he found solace at Silver Lake, a place he considered his second home.

Known for his kind heart, steadfast character, and unwavering love for his family, Loel left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Loel is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Janene; his children: David (Lisa) Dubois, Lane (Risa) Dubois, Janalee (Richi) Clements and Coby (Taylor) Dubois; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Loel will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, at 11:00 am, at Delta Utah LDS Stake Center, 125 S. White Sage Ave. A Viewing will be held 9:30-10:40 am, prior to service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
