George Harvey Davis II, age 62, of Safford, Arizona, and formerly of Oak City, Utah, returned to his Heavenly home on August 14, 2013 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 25, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona to George Harvey and Maurine Gruwell Davis. He enjoyed teasing his two bothers and four sisters.
George loved the gospel and served an honorable and faithful mission to New Zealand. He married his eternal companion, LaRene “Rene” Giles, in the Salt Lake Temple on April 13, 1979, Their home was blessed with three daughters; Robyn (Kevin) Moore; Jamie (Matt) Cole; and Michelle Taylor. The light of Georges life are his eight grandchildren; Nathan, Katie, Kezia, Jazlynn, Ryan, Jackson, Wyatt, and Elisabeth. They are his most valuable and important treasure. The last week of his life was spent doing what he loved the most - spending time with his grandchildren. George enjoyed making memories with his family, sharing his many life stories, and going on drives to many unique places and spending time outside hunting, fishing, and camping.
The Davis family would like to express their gratitude to all those who offered support in our time of need.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 19, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at the Oak City LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Sunday evening, 6-8 PM, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Monday morning, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oak City Cemetery.
