Charles LeRoy Zeeman

Charles LeRoy Zeeman, age 80, succumbed to cancer on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Delta, and returned to his eternal companion Beth. He was born on November 17, 1932 in Payson, Utah to John and Martha Schramm Zeeman. He attended Payson High School where he met Beth LaRue Christensen. They were married on September 3, 1952, in Payson. Later sealed at the Manti Temple on February 13, 1963.

He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends and always had a story to tell. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served as a scout master and member of the bishopric, and 17 years as dance director. He enjoyed making rockers and wooden horses for many people. He was a jack of all trades and loved helping others. He loved playing his trumpet and entertained at local care centers. He married Elaine Gardner Robison on June 13, 2009, after the death of his first wife on June 5, 2008, and increased the size of his family by many.

He is survived by his six children: Becky (Lee) Tanner, Delta; RaNae (Steve) Ottesen, Washington; Craig (Gwen) Zeeman, Payson; Peggy (Leonard) Shumway, Genola; Roger (Sheri) Zeeman, Delta; Christine Holman, Cedar City; brothers: Darrell, Lamar, Sherm, Robert; and sisters: Joyce, Martha Rae, Barbara Kay, Carma; 27 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. He will be remembered and missed by all who have associated with him. He was preceded in death by sisters: Berniece, Allene, Maxine; brother: Leon; grandson: Devon Zeeman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at the Mountain View 5th Ward LDS Chapel, 789 East Arrowhead Trail Rd, Payson. Viewings will be held Friday evening, 7-8 PM, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 South Center St; and Saturday morning at the church, 9:30-10:40 AM. Burial in the Payson City Cemetery.
