Sarah Jo Gottardi Louder

Sarah Jo Gottardi Louder, age 81, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 in Delta, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 10, 1932 in Denver, Colorado to Louie and Estel Allred Gottardi. She grew up as a coal miner’s daughter and her mother was a school teacher in a one room school house, where she gained her love for teachers. She married Boyd M Louder in Kamas, Utah on February 8, 1958; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 25, 2012.

Sarah Jo graduated from Pueblo High School in Pueblo, Colorado and she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, which led her to meet her cowboy sweetheart. They loved to dance. They moved to Utah and started their life together in Kamas, Utah, where they built, owned and operated the Louder’s Chuckwagon. She was General Manger for the C’est Bon Hotel in Park City, Utah. She later moved to Delta, Utah where she opened up the Louder’s Country Kitchen. She was a member of the Hinckley Lion’s Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Red Hats.  She was a pillar in the community.  She taught at the Alternative Learning Center and Health classes and CPR, for the Millard School District for many years, she loved her students and they loved her.  She taught over 2000 students CPR and was awarded a special certificate from Utah Governor.  She was famous for her “everyone needs 8 hugs day”. She was one of the Millard County’s original EMT’s where she served 25 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holding many callings and her favorite calling was an Area Representative for Church Social Services.

She loved reading westerns, garage sales, recording old movies, shopping, music, talking politics and current events with her grandchildren. She loved her family, grandchildren and was very proud of all of them and she had a special place in her heart for her sweet little dogs.

She is survived by her children: Ellen Louder Anderson of Centerville, Utah; Jack Louder,  of St. George;  Laurie Louder (Shane) Pitchforth of Ferron, Utah; James Boyd Louder of West Jordan, Utah; Tauna Louder Lindley of Salt Lake City, Utah; Justin (Sheri) Louder of Delta, Utah. She was so proud of her 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents: Louie and Estel Allred Gottardi; sister: Virginia Spencer; spouse: Boyd M. Louder; and son-in-law: Rex Lindley.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 12 Noon, at the Hinckley Stake Center, 188 North Main, Hinckley, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening at Nickle Mortuary, 6 - 8 pm; and Wednesday, 10:30-11:40 am, at Hinckley Stake Center, prior to service. Burial will be in the Hinckley Cemetery.
