Venice Ruth Moody Bishop returned to our Father in Heaven on Monday, July 14, 2014, in Delta, Utah. She was born April 18, 1943 to George Keith and Beth Pewtress Moody in Ogden, Utah.
Venice married the love of her life Ken Grant Bishop on November 11, 1961. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple on March 27, 1968. Together they made their home in Sutherland where Ken took over the family farm and they raised their four children. While raising her family, Venice held numerous callings in the Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. Serving others was something that brought Venice great joy. Venice’s smile and accepting nature drew people to her, which resulted in many lifelong friends.
Venice will be remembered for her compassionate service, unconditional love, love for her family as well as an unwavering testimony of the Gospel.
Venice is survived by her husband: Ken Grant Bishop, Delta, Utah; Karen (Leonard) Bogdanowicz, Fallon ,NV; Vicki (Cary) Brunson, Antofagasta, Chile; Connie (Bill) Shank, Round Mountain, NV; 13 Grandchildren & 5 Great- Grandchildren. Venice was preceded in death by her parents: George Keith Moody and Beth Pewtress Moody; and her adoring son: Matt Ken Bishop.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 18, at 11:00 AM, at the Sutherland LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Thursday, July 17, 7:00-8:30 PM at the Nickle Mortuary; and Friday at the church, 9:30-10:40 AM, before the service. Venice will be laid to rest in the Delta Cemetery.
