Ava Nielson Anderson

February 26, 1922 — November 27, 2014

Ava Nielson Anderson passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at age 92, in her home surrounded by loving family. She was born February 26, 1922 to John and Ida Nielson in Oak City, Utah. She married Christian J Anderson on December 3, 1945 in the Manti LDS Temple and resided in Oak City all her life. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She took an interest in family history at a very young age, and this interest continued until her death. She was involved in publishing several town and family history books. She was active in the DUP (Daughters of the Utah Pioneers).

She was proceeded in death by her husband: Christian J Anderson; her son: Glade Nielson Anderson; and brother: Gayle Roper (Mavis) Nielson. She was is survived by one brother: Alden John (Erma) Nielson (Oak City, UT); and children: Barry (Cherrie) Anderson (Murray, UT); Carol Anderson (Oak City, UT); Floyd (Lynn) Anderson (Oak City, UT); Jerry (Jacklyn) Anderson (Phoenix, AZ); Ross (Cyntea) Anderson (Oak City, UT); 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in her honor on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 am, at the Oak City LDS Church; with a viewing prior, 9:00-10:40 am. An evening viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, 7:00-8:30 pm at the Oak City LDS meetinghouse. She will be buried in the Oak City Cemetery.
