Rosabeth Marguerite Nickle Kennington Delapp

July 14, 1923 — December 8, 2014

Rosabeth Marguerite Nickle Kennington DeLapp, age 91, passed away at sunset on Monday, December 8, 2014. She was born July 14, 1923 in Meadow, Utah to Lloyd Nadine Nickle and Luella Bushnell Nickle. Later they moved to Delta, Utah where her father farmed and formed Nickle Mortuary.

In 1945, she was 1 of 5 graduates with a degree in pharmacy from Idaho State University. While there she met Paul H. Kennington. They married after he graduated in Pharmacy in June 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled in Tooele, Utah where they both worked at Tooele Drug. Paul died in 1950. As a single mother she worked diligently to provide for her two daughters.

In 1967 she began working for the VA hospital. She was Assistant Chief Pharmacist upon retirement in 1986.

Rosabeth moved to the Millcreek area in 1971 where she resided for the next 42 years. She loved her home, the area, and especially enjoyed the socialization with her dear friends. On June 18, 1975, she married John DeLapp and became a second mother to his youngest children. They supported each other and their endeavors until his passing in 2006. In 2013 Rosabeth moved to Sandy to bless her daughter’s family. In her last years she really enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will sorely miss her long legs and smiling face greeting us as we come in the door.

Rosabeth lived a long eventful life with a full and keen knowledge of events and travel locations. She enjoyed traveling and has been on 4 continents, many Islands and countries. She provided support and advice for friends, family and anyone who came into the Pharmacy. She was an active and long standing member of Beta Sigma Phi. As an active member of the LDS church she held many callings throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, brother: James Nickle; daughter: Paula Phillips (Jack). She is survived by her brother: Albert Nickle (Barbara); children: Nadine Cooper (Hal), Edith DeLapp, Robert DeLapp (Verna), Gordon DeLapp (Renae), Dorthy Boyle, Lloyd DeLapp (Virginia), Paul DeLapp (Carla); 29 grandchildren and 76 great grandchildren.
