Kent “Pops” William Devers, age 59, was accepted in to the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 18, 2014, surrounded by his devoted wife, Terri, and three beautiful children. He was born in Salt Lake City on June 23, 1955 to Paul Howard and Catherine Ilene Carter Devers. He married Terri Lee Truswell on June 27, 1980 in Salt Lake City.
Kent was a compassionate, loving man to everyone. He had a burning passion for doing the Lord’s work, and lived his life sharing his words of wisdom. Kent enjoyed singing, riding his Harley, shooting guns, and most of all making people laugh. He was the man of many hats: the leader of the church Kid’s Club, helping in the jail ministry, singing on many worship teams, and performing weddings.
He is survived by his mom: Ilene; brother: Dale (Janet); his beloved wife: Terri; and his three beautiful children: Lisa “Lips”, Nikki “Teeth”, and Rick “Puffy” (Katie) Devers. He also had nine awesome grandchildren: Dominic, Saber, Haley Zelda, Jaymz, Gage, Hailey, Justus, Tyson, and Charlie. Baby Dominick, the son of Lorenzo and Lori Mendoza, who recently preceded him - was to be the tenth “adopted” grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, at 11:00 AM, at “The Way” Church, 284 West Main Street, Delta. Viewings will be held Monday, 7-8 PM, at the Nickle Mortuary; and Tuesday, 9:30-10:40 AM prior to the service.
