Glen Clead Nielson

July 19, 1952 — August 12, 2015

Glen Clead Nielson, age 63, passed away on August 12, 2015 in Delta, Utah from renal cancer. Glen was born July 19, 1952 in Payson, Utah to Robert Dee and Marilyn Shuldberg Nielson.

He grew up in Lynndyl, Utah. He attended the Utah School for the Blind in Ogden, until he was 16 years old. While at the Blind School he became an accomplished pianist and was an excellent student.

Glen attended High School in Delta his Junior and Senior year and graduated in 1970. He served an LDS mission to the Montana, Wyoming Mission.

He graduated from BYU in 1976 with a degree in Chemistry. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a PhD in Physical Chemistry.

Glen married Joan Mussey in 1985. She preceded him in death in 1991. He married Lori Kurth in 2001. They later divorced.

His career took him to various cities including: Chicago, Washington DC, San Diego, Florida and Salt Lake City.

He became accomplished with his software and computer skills. Glen was a software developer for devices used by the blind.

He was known for his intelligence, sense of humor and love of dogs.

Glen is survived by his parents, Lynndyl, UT; siblings: Renee (Mike) Carter, Mesa, AZ; Maxine (Rich) Hardy, Idaho Falls, ID; Sharon (Jeff) Peterson, Delta, UT; Daryl (Wendy) Nielson, Boise, ID; and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 22, at 11:00 AM at the Lynndyl Cemetery.
