Peggy Ann Carter Crane

June 24, 1932 — August 22, 2017

Peggy Ann Carter Crane, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in Delta, Utah. She was born on June 24, 1932 in Hinckley, Utah, the sixth of the 9 children of Byron B and Gladys Carrie Stewart Carter. Peggy attended Hinckley High School where she participated as a softball pitcher and was elected into the Rodeo Royalty. She was encouraged to go on a blind date with a young man from Delta. He was able to capture her heart, and she married Grant Allen Crane on September 8, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. Soon after Grant was drafted in the military. They moved to Fort Warden in Port Townsend, Washington until he was discharged and they moved back to Delta in 1953.

Peggy worked in the meat department of Quality Market, as a clerk at the Delmart store, and several years cleaning IPP. She enjoyed making many porcelain dolls and quilts, oil painting and participating in a square dancing club with her husband during the 50's. She loved to spend time with her friends, especially Helen Wright during their many activities. Her  home was a warm and inviting place full of fun, and she was a great cook. All her grandkids called her house their favorite place.

Peggy is survived by her husband: Grant; daughter: Julie (Dan) Wood, Santa Clara, Utah; son-in-law: Tom (Luanne) Bladen; grandchildren: Wyatt, Garrett and Brandt Wood, Shanna Lee, Michael and Jay Bladen, Stacy Bleazard, Kari Haslem, Gina Ricks; step-grandchildren: John and Jesse Bennion, Ty and Matt Bladen;  32 great-grandchildren; brother: Sid Carter, Sparks, NV. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Wendy Bladen; siblings: Louise, Bud, Rex, Kennard, Jeff, Kitty and Doug.

Special thanks to Dr. Shamo, Cody Nielson, and Dr. Dekker and the staff at the Delta Community Hospital for their excellent care; and to sister-in-law, Betty Carter, for her constant devotion and kindness, and Eileen Wright for her friendship and service.
