Tygh John Backer

February 20, 1986 — November 17, 2017

Tygh John Backer, age 31, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 in Delta, Utah in a tragic hunting accident. Ty was born on February 20, 1986 in Sacramento, California.  His parents, Martin Spencer and Renee Rowlette Backer welcomed him to their family.

Ty grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended Skyline High School. He also completed a Mechanic’s Technical Degree at MMI in Arizona. In his early years, Ty enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. He had a great 3 point shot and often hit home runs in baseball.

Ty loved dogs. He loved training dogs and watching them work. Another of his favorite hobbies was hunting waterfowl. He passed  away while doing what he loved and was truly happy.

Ty had an infectious smile and people were naturally drawn to him. His sense of humor afforded him many friends in life. If you knew Ty, you were his friend.  Ty made friends readily and his laugh and smile were contagious. Ty’s selfless attitude made him an extremely devoted father. He would do anything for Blake, Jenessa or Harvey. He also dearly loved his cousins in Delta.

Ty met Jamie Walgren in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in October of 2016. It didn’t take long for them to realize that they were meant to be together. Their life together brought them more happiness and joy than either of them could imagine. Ty’s greatest joys included Jamie, Blake, Jenessa, Harvey, working with dogs, and eating delicious food.

Ty and Jamie were married on January 3, 2017 in Scottsbluff, NE. Even though they only knew each other for 13 months, they developed a unique relationship that will last for eternity.

Ty is survived by his wife: Jamie; children: Blake, Jenessa, and Harvey; parents: Marty and Renee Backer; brother: Wade (Sandy) Backer (Bountiful, UT); sister: Stefanie (Dan) Anjewierden (Bountiful, UT); grandmother: Evelyn Rowlette (Delta, UT); and his dogs: Gracie, Kodi, and Django as well as countless other friends and family members. He was preceded in death by sister: Tammy Renee Backer; grandfather: John Harvey Rowlette; grandfather: Martin Backer; and grandmother: Phoebe Backer.

He left this life too early and there are no words to describe how much he will be missed by his family and friends.
