Reid D Ludwig, age 67, of Delta, Utah returned home to his Heavenly Father, June 4, 2018 in Delta, Utah. He was born August 23, 1950 in Murray, Utah to Alta Edna Dow and Martin Otto Ludwig. He was the fourth of six children. The family moved to Oasis, Utah in 1954 and then later moved to Delta in 1962. After graduating from Delta High School in 1968, he worked for Utah Wholesale Groceries, loading truck and delivering. He worked a short time for the Geological Survey and then as a carpenter/painter until he was hired on at Brush Wellman (Materion) where he was employed for almost 43 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Lynn Evans, on June 18, 1971 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Reid loved hiking, camping, Dutch oven cooking, and spending time outdoors especially with his family. He loved the scouting program and spent many years mentoring youth. Reid enjoyed serving others. He searched for opportunities to help those in need and was a true example of Christ in his words and actions. Reid cherished his membership in the LDS church and served in many capacities, finding joy in each of his callings. He was blessed with countless friends from all walks of life and valued each of those friendships.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 47 years: Jackie Evans Ludwig; daughters: Danielle (Daniel) Morgan of Delta, Utah; Marci (Dale) Jackson of Sutherland, Utah; grandchildren: Kelci (Jaden) Manis, Jace Morgan, Tyler and MaKenna Allred, Daycen, Easton and Averi Jackson and Kelsi (Josh) Terakawa; brother: Paul (Sue) Ludwig of American Fork, Utah; sisters: Sue Ann (Larry) Glabe of Hickman, Nebraska; Rosemary (Don) Bishop of Delta, Utah; Edna Mason of Lake City, Colorado; and Karen (Chris) Boyter of Richfield, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Alta Ludwig; and brother-in-law, Phil Mason.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, at 11:00 am, at the Delta LDS Stake Center, 125 S. White Sage Ave. Viewings will be held at the Delta LDS Stake Center on Friday, 6:00-8:00 pm; and Saturday, 9:00-10:40 am, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Sutherland Cemetery.
