Donald Richard Bird was brought into the world in Delta, Utah by his father, Dr. Myron E. Bird, on March 7, 1929. From Delta, Utah on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at age 89, he was welcomed into the loving arms of his loving father, Myron E. Bird; mother, Romania Westenskow Bird; son, Richard Don Bird; brother, Evan Bird; and sister, Dorothy Killpack.
He married Mary Joan Nielson on July 8, 1950, and was father to four children. He was actively involved in many civic and social clubs including Kiwanis, The Riding Club and City Council.
He is survived by his spouse of 68 years: Mary Joan Nielson Bird; son: Russell Bird, Tucson, Arizona; daughters: Jacquie (Art) Lofgreen, Mesa, Arizona; Julie (Ron) Damron, Wellington, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 15, at 11:00 am, at the Delta 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 197 S 300 W, Delta. A Viewing will be held on Thursday morning, 9:30-10:40, prior to the service. Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
