Christie Sue Smith

January 17, 1968 — March 22, 2019

Christie Sue Smith, age 51, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, in American Fork. She was born on January 17, 1968 in Salt Lake City to Harry and Coleen Smith. She graduated from Delta High School. She worked at many businesses in the Delta community, the Rancher Café, Jade Restaurant, Materion, Hogi Yogi, Quality Market and for the BLM. She had a spirit for having fun. Wherever she was, everyone knew she was there by her memorable laugh, and she did love to laugh.

The lights of her life were her children, Jessica Lynn Salaiz and Marissa Stuart Salaiz. When she was young, she gave up a child for adoption. He recently found and reached out to her. She was able to become happily reacquainted with her son, Cody Briggs. She was so very proud of all that the three accomplished!

She was married to Kurtis Tuttle and later Albert Salaiz, both divorced. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with her friends. She loved her grandparents and they were her great friends. One of her favorite activities was getting together with her Grandpa Muehlfeit over coffee. We are sure, right now she is sitting with her Grandpa having to settle for cups of hot chocolate.

She was planning to move next door to her parents to help take care of her dad. We will miss that!

She is survived by her children: Jessica Salaiz, Silver City, New Mexico; Marissa Salaiz, Las Cruces, New Mexico; Cody Briggs, Edwards AFB, California; parents: Harry and Coleen Smith, Delta; brothers: Todd (Terrie) Smith, Hinckley; Randy (Kasee) Smith, Moscow, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Roy and Cleo Muehlfeit; Eugene and Cristel Smith; nephew: Hank Smith.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, at 11:00 AM, at the Delta City Cemetery.
