Lena Renee Tanner

September 12, 1979 — April 17, 2019

Lena Renee Tanner, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, returned to the loving arms of our Father in Heaven on April 17, 2019 along with her constant companion and soulmate, Kenneth Nielson.

Lena was born on September 12, 1979 in Payson, Utah to Lee and Becky Tanner. She spent most of her 39 years in Delta, Utah where her family moved when she was 4 years old. She had countless adventures with friends and her younger sister during her high school years. That is when she met her first husband, Patrick Jensen of Richfield.  They were married in 1998 and had three sons together; Scott, Blade and Brock.  They made many great memories together as a family before Lena and Pat later divorced.

Lena completed her CNA training and later worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at the Delta North Elementary School where she loved helping the children learn, grow and be happy. Lena met Kenni in 2013 and she quickly became Mom to his infant son, Anthony.  Lena and Kenni were practically inseparable from the time they met. They loved each other, supported each other, encouraged each other and you would rarely see one of them without the other.

Lena had a great love for the outdoors.  She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and off-roading with her country music turned up loud. She loved doing those things best when she could do them with family. Lena accepted and loved people for who they were and rarely judged anyone. She forgave easily and didn’t hold a grudge.  Because of this kind and caring heart, Lena had many friends who knew she was willing to help any time they had a need.  She will be greatly missed by many.

Lena is survived by her children: Scott Jensen (Ashley Martinez), Murray; Blade and Brock Jensen, Richfield; Anthony Nielson, Delta; parents: Lee and Becky Tanner, Nephi; siblings: Lorie (Gary) Hughes, Ephraim; Mike (Mindy) Tanner, Ephraim; Sherrie (Nathan) Gould, Nephi; Sarah (Kenny) Potter, Fayetteville, GA; 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Charles and Beth Zeeman; Colvin and Renee Tanner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 11:00 am, at the Delta LDS Stake Center Chapel, 125 S White Sage Ave, Delta. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 pm, at the Nickle Mortuary, 190 S Center St, Delta; and Saturday, 9:30-10:40 am, prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at the Payson Utah Cemetery.

The family would like to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to the first responders and all those on scene of the accident.
