Cecelie Mae Fielding King

August 14, 1928 — August 31, 2019

On August 31, 2019 in Delta, Utah, we said goodbye to the lady who saw the beauty in everything and everyone. Cecelie Mae Fielding King was born August 14, 1928 to John and Emma Snyder Fielding. The youngest of six children, she grew up on a ranch in Baker, Nevada. Cecelie attended school in Baker, earning recognition as Valedictorian. She then attended White Pine County High School in Ely, Nevada. After graduating, she returned home to help with the ranch.

She met Jerry on the ranch when he came to help her dad and brother repair a piece of equipment. They were married on October 20, 1948 in Ely and then moved to Delta. They were blessed with two amazing children: Carla and Dee. Together their family enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horse racing. Later they moved to Hinckley where they farmed, and raised cattle and Airedales. Cecelie also adopted every stray that crossed her path.

She enjoyed her years working at Baker Drug and Service Drug. After many years, she retired from Service Drug, a job she loved dearly. She and Jerry loved spending time at the auction, attending the grandkids’ activities, and going for a Sunday drive. Everyone was always welcome in their home. She loved to cook and if you left hungry, it was your own fault. She loved stamp collecting, puzzles, embroidery, and spending time with her family (especially if a road trip was involved). Grandma will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

Cecelie is survived by her son: Dee (Stephanie) King; grandsons: Jake King, Cliff King, Russel (Bridgette) King; granddaughter: Stacey (Randy) Lake; great-granddaughters: Raquel, McKinlie, Sage, Tayden, and Lillian. She is preceded in death by her husband: Jerald King; and daughter: Carla K. Spadaro.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone at the Diamond D for being our “home away from home”. Thank you for all the care you gave to Grandma.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 6, at 11:00 am, at the Delta City Cemetery.
