Amelia Jane Cahoon Cole

February 15, 1932 — October 6, 2019

Our dear Mom, Amelia Jane Cahoon Cole, age 87, got her wish of staying in her home until she died. Jane passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, to be reunited with her eternal companion, Lesle Wayne Cole, and her son, Richard.

Jane was born on February 15, 1932, in Vernal, Utah. She was a surprise baby to her parents, George Weight and Angie Harmon Cahoon. She grew up in Holden, Utah, but attended school in Delta. She was always proud of her time spent in the Delta, Utah area and loved being a Delta Rabbit. She graduated from Delta High School and then graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education from BYU. Later she worked as a High School teacher in Duchesne. She married Leslie Wayne Cole on July 20, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple. Her greatest joy was raising her family.

Jane loved spending time with the people she cared about. Some of her favorite activities were traveling, having game nights with friends and family, sewing and painting. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She blossomed when she and Wayne were called to service in the Nauvoo Mission. She met many friends and was so grateful for the opportunity she had to serve there. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved family history and always had stories to tell of her beloved pioneer ancestors.

Jane is survived by children: Lori Ann Cole (Steve) Schroeder, Mark (Venora) Cole, Brad Cole; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren (another on the way). She was preceded in death by her husband: Wayne; and son: Richard. She also had a special relationship with her sister, LaRue Cahoon Nickle (and husband Albert); and her brother Garth Arthur Cahoon (and wife Elaine) - both deceased. She loved all the nieces and nephews along with “the folks from home.”

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Our family is especially grateful for her wonderful neighbors who blessed her and her family so much by their service. There are too many to number, but never did a day pass that her life wasn’t blessed by some kindness from them. We thank you.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 12, at 11:00 AM, in the Bountiful 14th Ward LDS Chapel, 1500 South 600 East, Bountiful. A Viewing will be held Saturday, 9:30-10:40 AM, prior to the service. Burial will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
