Della Eileene Jacobson, age 76, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Millard County Care Center in Delta, Utah, where she has been residing for the past year and a half. She was born on June 17, 1943 in Delta, Utah the fourth child of Thurlow Wilmer and Ada Anderson Jacobson. Della graduated from Delta High School, and then went to work in Salt Lake City at the Sweets Candy Company. She lived in an apartment close to Temple Square. Later she moved to Provo, and went to work at the Barbizon Sewing Company. She was an excellent seamstress and used that skill throughout her life. She also worked in Las Vegas as a maid at a large hotel.
Della loved her dogs. She was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed going on rock hounding trips with her brother Cecil. Her favorite trip with him was along the Oregon coast. Della would take her younger sisters on adventures such as picnics, playing on the sand dunes, shopping in Salt Lake, and lots of fun rides. Della had a passion for Genealogy research and shared her knowledge with many.
Della is survived by her sisters: Bertha Jacobson, Nephi; Connie Moosman, Salem; Marilyn (Dennis) Schurtz, Cedar City; Nancy (Tom) Oveson, Santaquin; Sheila Woodbury, Logan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother: Cecil T. Jacobson; and sister: Vonita “Bonnie” (Phil) Bradbury.
A Graveside Dedication Service to honor Della will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 1:00 pm, at the Oak City Cemetery.
